Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Treatment Tucson

What is carpal tunnel syndrome?

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a condition that causes pain, numbness, and tingling in the hand and arm. It occurs when the median nerve, which runs from your forearm into the palm of your hand, is compressed at the wrist. This compression can be due to a variety of factors, including repetitive hand movements, wrist anatomy, or underlying health conditions.

How does chiropractic help with carpal tunnel syndrome?

Chiropractic care focuses on addressing issues with your muscles and nerves. For carpal tunnel syndrome, chiropractors use hands-on techniques (and sometimes specialized instruments) to adjust the wrist, arm, and spine. These adjustments help reduce inflammation, relieve pressure on the median nerve, alleviate pain, improve hand function, and help your body heal better.

Is it safe?

Yes, chiropractic care is safe when performed by a licensed and trained chiropractor. Serious problems from adjustments are very rare, especially compared to the side effects of medications and the risks of surgery. Chiropractors undergo extensive training to ensure they can help you without causing harm. During your first appointment, we will discuss your health history and any concerns you may have before starting treatment.

What happens during a chiropractic visit for carpal tunnel syndrome?

On your first visit, we’ll review your health history and perform a physical exam. Sometimes, we may refer you for x-rays or other imaging studies. We’ll discuss your findings with you and outline a treatment plan tailored to your goals. This usually includes adjustments to your wrist, arm, and possibly your spine, along with other therapies such as soft tissue manipulation, stretching exercises, and ergonomic advice to help reduce your symptoms and improve your hand function.

How well does chiropractic care work for carpal tunnel syndrome?

Dr. Cox has helped hundreds of patients recover from carpal tunnel syndrome over the past 25 years. Many have returned to their normal lives pain-free. Studies show that chiropractic care can significantly reduce pain, improve hand and wrist function, and enhance overall quality of life. Each care plan is personalized to suit your specific needs and goals.

When should I think about seeing a chiropractor for carpal tunnel syndrome?

You should schedule your new patient appointment if:

  • Your carpal tunnel symptoms keep recurring or won’t go away.
  • You experience pain, numbness, or tingling in your hand or fingers.
  • Your wrist feels stiff, or you have limited hand movement.
  • Your neck feels tight and restricted.
  • Certain activities worsen your symptoms.
  • You prefer non-drug and non-surgery options for pain relief.

Ok so I got to my appointment early to complete the new patient paperwork and was immediately met with one of the nicest smiles I haven’t seen in 2 years since the pandemic, Dr. Cox! He was helpful and even made fun of himself about the working of the tablet. The office is immaculate though from the outside of the building I was a bit worried 😉I initially went in for the Slim program and was introduced to Rena! What a wonderful surprise, So knowledgeable brought tears to my eyes with all of the new information she provided. I feel safe in Life Aligned hands and will now be a part of their family!

Above what we expected. Both my husband and I have found Life Aligned Wellness more than we anticipated. We have both been to chiropractors in the past but this is so much more advanced with the technology and the techniques both Dr. Cox and Dr. Kabala have shown to help us. We have to drive 40 minutes one way to their office but it is well worth it. Thank you to both Dr. Cox and Dr. Kabala for their services.

I have had years of discomfort stemming from misalignment of my spine. Despite yoga, massage and heat therapy, I still could not relief the nerve irritation, tight muscles, and restricted range of motion. During my first adjustment, which was gentle and not uncomfortable, I felt instant improvement. I am eager to continue on this healing journey with the talented and compassionate team at Life Aligned Wellness Center.
